Setup Pax A35/A77/A920 Pro
Disclaimer: this section is only used when the partner does the terminal installation themselves.
- Prepare the terminal(s)
- Insert battery or cable for the PAX A35.
- Make sure that the terminal is always in the charger when doing the setup. Otherwise, the setup will fail since the installation of the app requires a certain percentage.
- For the PAX A920 PRO, put the print paper in the terminal and make sure that the print paper is facing down (see the illustration in the terminal).
- Turn the terminal on and connect to WIFI by going into the settings of the terminal (you can see it on the wallpaper). Use password: pax9876@@, and login to your WIFI.
- Login to your PAX environment.
- Go into the administrator centre. After, follow the following steps: Terminal Management > Partner name > Partner Holding Area.
In here you can find all the terminals which are not yet installed but ordered by you through your supplier. - Search in the search bar for the ‘Serial number’ of the terminal you want to couple.
- Select the relevant terminal and click on move which you can see in the lower left corner – see image below. A new screen will pop up.
- Click on the hamburger menu of the 'Reseller' line and select your Partner Name.
-
Click on the hamburger menu and for 'Merchant' choose ‘0. Dummy Merchant’. After, click on ‘OK’ and on ‘OK’.
-
The terminal is now moved to the correct area to be able to be couple to a merchant.
Important note! If the device is not placed in ‘0. Dummy Merchant’ first, the system will hold back the Rapyd Core push as it thinks it’s already coupled to an existing merchant.
Please note that this step is only correct if the dynamic group in the group management tab is correctly configured. See ‘Managing updates ....’ document to configure the group management.
- Go and login into your Klearly Partner Dashboard to couple the PAX device to the correct merchant - https://partner.klearly.eu/login
- Go to ‘Pax Terminal Coupling’ on the left menu.
- Click on ‘+ couple’ on the top right side of the screen.
-
Search for the business that you want to set up the terminal for (check the KvK number and name) and click on ‘Assign Terminal’ (apparaat toewijzen) - see image below.
-
Enter the ‘Serial Number’ of the terminal and press ‘assign’ (Toewijzen).
Now automatically the Rapyd Core app is being pushed onto the terminal (this is the most important app as this couples the terminal to the bank account of the merchant. - Go back to PAX Portal and to terminal management, the terminal should not be in 01. Dummy Merchant anymore but should be under its own name in the merchant overview within terminal management.
- Now the terminal is fully installed and has all the needed apps.
-
Please do a test transaction!
- If an error occurs, continue below
Not able to do a transaction?
-
To make sure that indeed all the correct apps are installed, you can go to a specific terminal and see more details. Do this by clicking on the terminal you just added to the terminal list and click on ‘App & firmware’. In here you should see the following apps: ‘Klearly’, ‘Rapyd Core’, ‘Air viewer’ and ‘Air launcher’.
If not: go to Push task -> ‘Select the not yet installed app’-> and click on ‘ok’. -
To also check if the RKI keys are installed, go to Push task-> RKI -> green arrow next to operation history and check if the Valitor BDK shows a success.
If yes: continue to step 6
If not: go to Push task -> RKI -> click on the right green arrow in the key template bar and select ‘Valitor BDK Klearly’ and click on ‘ok’.
Please monitor if this push is succeeded after by clicking on operation history and on the green arrow. If you see 'failed', then you will need to push the RKI again.
- If it fails again, you will need to update the firmware of the device (next step).
- Go to 'Push Task' and select 'Firmware' then click on the '+ Push Firmware' button and select the latest firmware version and press 'Ok'.
-
Now the new firmware version will push. If it failed, then select the other Firmware version and push this one.
Now you can go back to step 2 and repush the RKI. -
Now select the terminal and give it the right name. For example: Restaurant … (01)
- Click on the 3 dots menu
- Click on ‘Edit’
-
Change the name of the device at ‘Terminal name’ and click on ‘OK’ to save.
- You have correctly set up a terminal! Now try a test transaction and see if the transaction is successful.
If something went wrong (Rapyd Push)
There are multiple reasons for a Rapyd to be unsuccessful for example an unstable Wi-Fi. Without a proper Rapyd push the terminal will not be able to accept any payments and will show a red cross immediately or the transaction will load for a long time.
If this happens you will need to re push the Rapyd core app! You will need to put the terminal in the dummy merchant area and delete the Rapyd Core app from the terminal. Then repush the Rapyd core app through the business manager. These steps are explained from step 7 and on.
Couple an already merchant coupled terminal to new merchant
-
First delete the Rapyd Core app from the terminal you want to couple to a new merchant.
- Find the terminal in the PAX environment
- Go to tab ‘App & Firmware’ and click on the garbage bin next to the Rapyd Core app.
-
Move the terminal back to the ‘0. dummy merchant’ area. Now the device can be coupled again to another merchant.
- Go and login into your Klearly Partner Dashboard to couple the PAX device to the correct merchant - https://partner.klearly.eu/login
- Go to ‘Pax Terminal Coupling’, on the left menu.
- Click on ‘+ couple’ on the right top side of the screen.
-
Search for the business which you want to setup the terminal for (check the KvK number and name) and click on ‘Assign Terminal’ (apparaat toewijzen) - see image below.
-
Enter the ‘Serial Number’ of the terminal and press ‘assign’ (Toewijzen).
Now automatically the Rapyd Core app is being pushed onto the terminal (this is the most important app as this couples the terminal to the bank account of the merchant. - Go back to PAX Portal and to ‘Terminal management’, the terminal should not be in ‘0. Dummy Merchant’ anymore but should be under its own name in 'Partner Name'.
Cloud to app setup instructions
To be able to integrate a PAX terminal we now have the option to make a ‘Cloud to App’ connection with the POS system. To make this connection you will need to use a unique merchant token which you can retrieve from your own Klearly Partner Dashboard.
- Login on your Partner Dashboard (https://partner.klearly.eu/login).
- Navigate to the ‘merchants’ tab and click on ‘Merchants list’ on the left menu, where you can search for the specific merchant, you want to generate the token for.
- Click on the relevant merchant it to open all its details.
- At the ‘Merchant Information’ section look for the ‘token’ details.
- Here you can copy the token and use in to connect to the POS system.
- Go to ‘Merchant Device & Coupling’.
-
Click on ‘set refund code’ if merchant did not set one up yet and fill in a code (0000 e.g.)
- Note: this is mandatory security protocol for merchants to do refunds and have easy sign-in without the use of a password.
-
Click on ‘Generate Easy Sign-in Code’ and use this code to log in to the PAX you want to switch to cloud modus (code stays valid for 10 minutes).
- Open the Klearly app on the device and select sign in method ‘Login with code’.
- FIll in the code in the Klearly app.
- Now you are logged into your Klearly account on the device.
- Click on the hamburger menu top left corner.
- Select ‘Device mode’.
- Switch from ‘App to App payments to ‘Cloud to App payments’.
-
Click on ‘Save changes’.
